Bio
Ziad R. Mattar, MD, FCCP, is a board-certified pulmonologist, critical care and sleep medicine physician with the Orlando Health Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Group. He also serves as the medical director of pulmonary rehabilitation at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). His areas of interest include critical care, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease and sleep medicine.
Treatment for Lungs and Breathing Disorders
Dr. Mattar diagnoses and treats all types of diseases and conditions affecting the lungs and breathing. A few of the tests and procedures he performs include:
- Sleep studies (polysomnography, MSLT, MWT, CPAP, BiPAP and NIPPV)
- Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, transbronchial biopsy
- Endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS)
- Full pulmonary function testing
Dr. Mattar’s Training
Dr. Mattar completed a residency in internal medicine at Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, where he was recognized as Resident of the Year. He then served as chief resident of internal medicine and completed a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the University of Toledo.
About Dr. Mattar
Dr. Mattar is a fellow of the College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. He is active in his profession as member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Additionally, he is an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine at the University of Central Florida, University of Florida in Gainesville, and Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Dr. Mattar has published his work in many peer-reviewed journals and is fluent in English, French, Russian, Arabic and Spanish.
