Bio
Justin W. Zumsteg, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty in surgery of the hand with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, where he specializes in operative and non-operative treatment of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He additionally is the co-director of the Orlando Health Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Institute and has a clinical interest in nerve repair and reconstruction and advanced nerve surgery techniques such as targeted motor reinnervation.
As a collegiate swimmer at the University of Florida, Dr. Zumsteg earned many awards including being named a Rhodes Scholarship finalist. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, where he was awarded the Academic Recognition Award for graduating among the top five students in his class.
Following medical school, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center.
Dr. Zumsteg’s work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has been presented at several regional and national meetings. He is also a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
