Dr. Farhan Khawaja is a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine and is a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). His expertise includes:

Dr. Khawaja’s Training

Dr. Khawaja earned a master’s degree in medical management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Khawaja also completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and vascular and endovascular medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.

About Dr. Khawaja

Dr. Khawaja is board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also is board certified in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and in vascular medicine and endovascular medicine by the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography Interventions.

Dr. Khawaja was the founding president of the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. As a result of his leadership, the heart and vascular program was honored as a Top 50 cardiology, heart and vascular surgery program by US News and World Report.

Dr. Khawaja has been published in multiple medical journals and served on the faculty of Columbia University as an instructor of medicine. He is involved in multiple research studies involving renal artery denervation.

Outside of work, Dr. Khawaja enjoys spending time with his family and reading.
